Ghostwriting

Have a great idea for a crime, mystery, thriller, or suspense novel or series? Maybe you don’t have the first idea how to write, or perhaps you simply don’t have the time to commit to executing it well. That’s where great ghostwriters come in. They take your ideas and flesh them out into a complete manuscript based on your idea, characters, setting, and theme. (Ghostwriters can also craft an idea for you if you need that first project to give you a good foundation to build on for your author career.)

When you work with a ghostwriter, you are still the author, and the ghostwriter typically has no claim over the idea or the writing they produced. However, this really depends on the contract. Some ghostwriters might lower the fee to have a byline next to yours along with a portion of the royalties. The most standard arrangement between an author and their ghostwriter is paying a fee for the work to be done, and the author is the only one with a byline.

This can be a great way to start a business if you have the financial means to commit to a five-figure project fee. (Sorry, but ghostwriting is a lot of work, so it requires a sizable investment.)

Write the Crime specializes in cozy mystery and domestic thriller ghostwriting, but we are open to other related projects.
